What We Do |
The County Parks Department supervises the
operation and development of our parks and recreation centers.
Picnic Point County
Park is located
from Lake Benton 8 miles north on US Hwy 75, then 3 miles west of
Lincoln County Hwy 15, and then 1 mile north. The park is 43 acres
located on the south side of Lake Shaokatan. The park offers 30
campsites with water and electricity. Also it has sites without hookups.
Park has one shelter house, playground equipment, swimming beach, bath
house with showers, boat launch, fish cleaning shed, and R.V. dump
station.
Prices: $18 for
electric and water, $15 without, and $12 for tents.
Norwegion Creek County Park
is located one mile north of
Lake Benton and one mile east. The park is 140 acres located right on
Lake Benton. The park offers 92 campsites. 50 campsites are full with
water, electric, and sewer. Other 42 all have electric and water.
Facilities include two picnic shelters, bath house with showers,
swimming beach, fish cleaning shed, R.V. dump station, and two boat
launches.
Prices: $22 for
electric, water and sewer. $18 for electricity and water. $12 for tents.
Hole in the Mountain County Park
is located on the west edge
of the city of Lake Benton, just off US Hwy 14. The park offers 33
campsites. All campsites have electricity and water. The park is
approximately 800 acres of woodland and prairie. Park has hiking trails,
playground equipment, shelter houses, and R.V. dump station. Also has
chalet building with bathrooms and showers. The chalet can be rented out
for family events, parties, and other functions.
Prices: $18 for
electricity and water, $15 for no electricity, $12 for tents, $7S for
chalet rent.
Horse Hill
is located on the west edge
of the city of Lake Benton, sitting on top of a hill overlooking the
city. Very beautiful! Park offers 30 sites with electricity and has
central bathrooms located for water, hitching rails, and bathhouse with
showers. There are 5 miles of trails to ride.
Prices: $18 for
electricity, $15 for no electricity, $12 for tents.
